   I’ve owned the Assics Gel-Enduro 4 (purchased at a local retailer) for less than a year and they are ready for the trash. Despite using them primarily for walking and light hiking, the mesh upper fabric has developed holes above my big toe area in both shoes (Great “additional ventillation.”). They are comfortable and light when I wear them with an “after-market” cushion insole however, the fabric mesh wore-out way too soon, in my opinion. I will not be replacing these shoes with another Assics product.

   Hopefully, this newer model has better quality, more durable upper mesh fabric.

   These are excellent trail running shoes. The shoes are very light weight. I was supprised by how light they felt. At the same time they are rugged and can take the punishment and abuse of the trails. These shoes also provide good ventilation. At the end of my run, my feet aren’t too sweaty or stink. These shoes quickly replaced my other (care not to name the brand) trail running shoes that I own. I would recommend these running shoes.
